Prince Green Initiative

Our commitment to a greener and more sustainable tomorrow.

Prince Waikiki is committed to on-going efforts in sustainable operations and practices to preserve Hawaii’s delicate eco-system. With ongoing efforts of our associates, partners and guests we are leaving a positive impact in our environment.

We invite you to be part of our journey to perpetuate and cultivate a brighter tomorrow through our efforts with our rooftop garden, sourcing local products, clearing our coastlines, striving for zero food waste, reducing our carbon footprint, energy conservation and more.

Rooftop Aquaponic Garden

With a commitment to sustainability and providing the freshest ingredients in all of our dishes, our culinary team has created the only hotel rooftop aquaponic garden on Oahu. Our urban garden produces crisp butter lettuce, lilikoi, edible flowers, garlic chives, chili peppers, yuzu and more. Our fresh produce can be enjoyed through dining at 100 Sails Restaurant & Bar, Hinana Bar and the Club Lounge.

Sourcing Locally

With a focus on fresh island cuisine, we work closely with local small farms and businesses to source our ingredients.

Local partners: Ho Farms, Kualoa Ranch, Metro Grow, Gava Grow, Fantastic Garden, Kanekoa Farms, Ulu Coop, Sumida Watercress, Aloha Tofu, Kupu Place, Kula Country Farm, J. Ludovico, Kona Kamapchi, Local Eggs, Rainbow Bee’s Honey, Laie Vanilla Co, Maui Kuia Chocolate

Malama Hawaii

Prince Waikiki is proud to support and partner with Sustainable Coastlines, a local nonprofit organization that works hard to inspire better consumer behaviors and continued coastal stewardship through cleanups, education and more. By keeping waterways clean and the coastlines clear of trash, this important initiative allows native flora and marine life to thrive, while also supporting the local ecosystem.

Zero Food Waste

With efforts to keep food waste out of landfills and to strengthen the local community on Oahu, we partner with Aloha Harvest and local pig farms.

Aloha Harvest: Collect unused/untouched food products twice per week and redistribute to the hungry.

Local Pig Farm: Any food waste that remains is donated to a local pig farm, all of which results in zero food waste in our kitchens.
