Celebrate the legacy of hula at one of Hawaii’s most beloved cultural gatherings. Held from July 19–20, the 48th annual Prince Lot Hula Festival is Hawaii’s largest non-competitive hula event. This free celebration honoring Prince Lot Kapuaiwa draws over 17,000 attendees each year with hula performances, cultural workshops, local food vendors, and hands-on activities. This year’s theme, Makaukau (meaning “prepared”), invites all to stand rooted in aloha (love), kuleana (responsibility), and mālama (care).

Aloha Festivals

Across Oʻahu and beyond, the festivities include vibrant parades, lively block parties, traditional music, and cultural showcases. Now in its 78th year, this cherished tradition shines a spotlight on Hawai‘i’s culinary heritage and the people who help preserve it.
