Live Hawaiian Music: Prince Waikiki’s SunSets LIVE Stream
Honolulu’s Prince Waikiki is known for its sumptuous infinity pool, unobstructed Pacific Ocean views, artistic elegance, and spellbinding sunsets. It sits along the ocean’s edge on the Ala Wai Harbor’s northeastern rim, the largest of its kind in Hawaii. The fifth-floor pool deck boasts startlingly-beautiful vistas, comfortable cabanas, and a crystal-clear lido that’s only steps from a signature cocktail (or two) at Hinana Bar. This ultra-popular space is masterfully utilized every Friday evening by local musicians. Prince Waikiki’s SunSets LIVE is a recurring live Hawaiian music series where the island’s top talent plays comforting tunes as the sun subtly dips behind the harbor. Soon thereafter, Waikiki’s beloved Friday night fireworks crack and explode in the starry sky, approximately 0.4 miles from the hotel. It’s an experience unlike any other in Oahu.
SunSets LIVE Stream
But, of course, COVID-19 had other plans this summer and fall, forcing SunSets LIVE to halt until further notice. However, on October 2, 2020, live Hawaiian music once again echoed into the harbor from Prince Waikiki’s fifth-floor, open-air pool deck, thanks to the ever-talented Kelandy. Because the hotel remained closed until November 1, 2020, the Prince Waikiki team live-streamed Kelandy’s performance, much to the delight of those who desperately miss SunSets LIVE and all of its jubilee and sophistication. Kelandy’s live performance was the start of something beautiful: live Friday night streams, with the likes of Mike Tulba, T Flatz, Kale’a Camarillo, and Nu’u following suit. Sets start at 5:30 p.m. on Facebook. You can also rewatch the performances from Kelandy, Mike Tulba, and T Flatz, for those who missed out on previous live streams. SunSets LIVE will continue to be live-streamed until further notice.
Live, in-Person Hawaiian Music and Entertainment
In the near future, guests will have exclusive access to Prince Waikiki’s weekly SunSets LIVE shows. No lineup has been announced as of yet, as the Prince team gathers talent while also enacting effective social distancing measures. As a reminder, SunSets LIVE starts at 5:30 p.m. most Fridays, with the show ending at 7 p.m. and the fireworks following soon thereafter. Previous musical guests include Ledward Kaapana, Del Beazley, Imua, Micah Ganiron, Ei Nei, and Johnny Suite. Prince Waikiki’s team allures some of the most talented artists in all of Hawaii. While patrons have the rare pleasure of listening to live, classic Hawaiian music, many bands’ performances span multiple genres, including contemporary sounds. Prince also welcomes a variety of entertainers to the hotel.
