Join Mayor Rick Blandiard as he lights up the 50-foot holiday tree at Honolulu Hale, officially marking the start of the holiday season. With food booths, keiki rides, dazzling lights throughout downtown, and a visit from Santa, December kicks off in merry fashion. The festive parade, part of the Honolulu City Lights opening night celebration, will continue all month and feature various family-friendly events. This is a great opportunity to enjoy a little bit of everything when it comes to holiday happenings.

 

Aloha Home Market Kailua – Hana Hou Holiday Market

Indulge in Hawaii’s premier pop-up market, showcasing unique local treasures. Held in a covered outdoor venue, this market distinguishes itself by emphasizing made-in-Hawaii products and rare finds not easily found elsewhere on O‘ahu. Ballet Hawaii Presents The Nutcracker

No holiday season is complete without The Nutcracker. Experience the holidays with Ballet Hawaii’s lavish Hawaiian-themed Nutcracker. Ballet Hawaii offers a unique take on this classic production, setting their version in the 1858 Kingdom of Hawaii. In this production, the flowers are Crown Flowers, Hibiscus, and Plumeria, while the birds are I’iwi. The famous toy soldier uniforms are patterned after those of the Royal Guard, and the highly anticipated Waltz of the Snowflakes takes place atop the slopes of Mauna Kea. This setting offers fascinating historical characterizations to go along with the delightful island-inspired performances. Even if you’ve seen The Nutcracker before, this promises to be a new and enchanting experience.

Whether lounging on the beach, exploring, or engaging in other holiday activities, wrap up your day at the pop-up bar with some festive and unique beverages.

 

Holly Jolly Waikiki Trolley

Become part of the holiday magic, not just a visitor. If singing Christmas carols is your cherished tradition, catch a ride on the Holly Jolly Waikiki Trolley. Running Wednesday – Sunday at 6 pm, 7 pm, 8 pm, and Fridays at 6 pm, 7 pm, and 8:30 pm. Try something new, meet new people, and spread Christmas cheer for those listening. 

 

Makers Market
