Fasi Civic Center Park in Honolulu. This free event continues a tradition that started 47 years ago, honoring Lota Kapuāiwa, also known as Kamehameha V, who played a significant role in preserving Hawaiian culture, including the once-forbidden art of hula. At the festival, this tradition is continued by offering cultural workshops, showcasing local food and artisans, and celebrating ancient and contemporary hula through performances by Hālau Hula (hula groups).
